Favourite Things

Good morning fans. Ella and Lily would like to share a few of their favourite things. Eating, sleeping, shredding and knocking things over, snuggling, outside time and bath time.

Is it breakfast time yet??

You weren't planning on sitting here right?

I must scratch your nose again
Is it food?

Set me free and I promise not to make you chase me through the neighbour's yard.....again.

Cats and Convalescing

What is more precious than kitty snores?

After a few visits to Dr. Mike, our cheerful vet, rounds of homeopathics, antibiotics, probiotics, immune boosters, de-worming treatments, soft food, tuna, sardines, steam baths, and tons of love, Ella-Bella and Lily-Billy are making a marked comeback. Sneezing fits are less frequent, kitty boogers are disappearing and the late night wrestling matches.......well, they keep us awake. But we love them.

Tag-team toy killing is a favourite game

hide-and-seek on the stairs is another favourite game

Seniora Monkey is still not sure about them, although she has been enjoying the benefit of special soft food and floral essences to ease the anxiety of new additions. She shows occasional non-chalant interest. Ella would really like to cuddle that Seniora Monkey. Lily doesn't care.

Kuwait to Kelowna ~ A Tale of Two Kitties

Welcome Home Ella & Lily

Two and a half weeks ago, Ella and Lily met their final destination on an international journey from Kuwait via Amsterdam and Edmonton. I could hear their plaintiff cries even before I laid eyes on them for the first time. Before saying my first "hello",  I quickly placed their carrier into my car, for fear they would catch a further chill. Since arriving in Edmonton two weeks previously, (and convalescing with Piper, Rosie and Company), they had been suffering from a feline herpes flareup, no doubt from the stress of the flight and temperature changes.

Two and a half weeks, and two vet visits later, Ella and Lily are still wheezing and sneezing, but their spirits are high. Tthey play often, eat TONS, and snuggle a lot. We've been giving them steam baths to help with congestion and they love to play in the water. They spend hours chirping at the birds outside. They've even found many ways to get into trouble, from climbing onto the counter to eat senior kitty Monkey's food, to climbing up our backsides when we least expect it. (It's almost time for another kitty manicure).

We're in love. And every day we pray that their condition improves.
